Patricia Strand, RMT

When Patricia was ill over 20 years ago, her doctors authorized numerous tests, yet they  were unable to determine a cause for her pain, anemia and unusual blood test results.  This sent Patricia on a search for her own wellness; she studied with many different teachers some of them are outlined briefly below.  Her journey has been one of many years.    

Because of the intense pain in her body she sought out a woman who was a psychic healer and used crystals for healing.  She was able to eliminate the pain for days and told Patricia she had cancer but the doctors couldn’t find it yet.  When she asked one of her doctors if he thought she had cancer, he was very upset and wanted to know where she came up with such an idea; when she told him, he dismissed her as a patient!  She then sought out healing with medicine men and women and learned how to use crystals; how to clear auras; how to sense imbalances in the body.  She participated in and eventually learned how to conduct Metis Medicine Wheel Ceremonies.   In the early 80’s she was drawn to yoga and took classes for three years from a yogi who had spent five years learning yoga in India.  It was in these classes she first learned how to meditate and often participated meditation from one to two hours a day.  She also was introduced to an incredible Kundalini Master who taught her more about the use of crystals and meditation. Along the way she found two incredible doctors who discovered she did have cancer, exactly where the psychic healer had said it was; their expert care and kindness saved her life.  She is forever grateful to them for their help. Through the process of seeking wellness she became very familiar with her own body and dis-ease and eventually learned how to restore her own body/mind to one of balance.  She passes this knowingness on with each person she teaches or works with. 

Patricia obtained her Reiki 3rd Degree Master Certificate, in the Usui System of Natural Healing, in May of 1999 and since that time has taught classes in 1st, 2nd and 3rd Degree.  She developed her own training materials and provides manuals and handouts for each new student.  

Patricia was certified to teach JRT (Japanese Reiki Techniques) in a workshop in Seattle in May of 2000 by Frank Arjava Petter, author of Reiki Fire (Shangri-La), Reiki: The Legacy of Dr. Usui (Shangri-La (Twin Lakes, Wis.).)and several other books.  She now teaches JRT to Reiki students who hold the 2nd Degree or higher in the Usui System of Natural Healing and she has incorporated these techniques in her ongoing Reiki classes. 

Recently Patricia was privileged to attend a Jikiden Reiki class taught by Tadao Yamaguchi, sensei.  Yamaguchi, sensei grew up with Reiki in Japan and was attuned by his mother Chiyoko Yamaguchi who was attuned by Dr. Chujiro Hayashi who was attuned by Dr. Mikao Usui, the originator of Usui Reiki.  This was the first time this class was taught outside of Japan and it was taught in Japanese with an English interpreter.  Yamaguchi, sensei attuned Patricia to the Okuden and Shoden Degrees in Jikiden Reiki in 2005.
